Want to know some of the best wineries in Niagara Region for a cozy, quaint and unforgettable experience? These are some of the must-see wineries in Niagara that you need to know about!
There’s something about the Niagara Region. Rolling vineyards, charming country roads, and wine tastings that go far beyond the glass. And while the big names like Peller Estates and Jackson-Triggs have their place, this post is for you if you love discovering hidden gems, sipping slowly, and sharing a good story and some laughs over a glass of rosé.
I’ve had the privilege of living in the Niagara Region for upwards of 15 years and there are so many gorgeous wineries that you have to experience.
Let’s wander off the beaten path together and explore some of the best wineries in Niagara Region…specifically the cozy, small-scale spots that feel like a mix between a European countryside and your favourite café.
This post is all about the best wineries in Niagara Region that every visitor and local alike should know about.
Best Wineries In Niagara Region:
1. Featherstone Estate Winery – Vineland
Featherstone Estate is everything a small winery should be…unpretentious, beautiful, and quietly brilliant. Located on the Niagara Escarpment in Vineland, it’s a family-owned winery full of heart. You might actually see the owners walking their sheep through the vineyard during your visit as they use sheep for natural vineyard management!
The vibe is relaxed and health-conscious. Their wine making process is more on the natural side. Bring a picnic, sit on the porch, and let the view do the talking. Don’t leave without trying their Riesling, it’s a local legend.
2. Back 10 Cellars – Beamsville
This tiny vineyard is nestled on ten acres in Beamsville and delivers big on character. Back 10 Cellars feels like a modern day fairy tale. Think red barn, twinkle lights, acoustic music, and a vineyard that seems to actually glow in the evening.
Owned by a couple who left the city to chase their wine dream, the experience here feels personal. Every wine seems to have a story. The atmosphere is friendly, intimate, and laid-back.
They also offer vegan-friendly and gluten-free snacks for pairings, making it a favorite among people with allergies or who are health conscious.
3. Leaning Post Wines – Stoney Creek (Just outside Niagara)
Okay, technically not in the heart of Niagara, but Leaning Post is worth the extra few minutes’ drive. It’s a rustic, family-run place and the tasting room feels like a countryside living room.
If you appreciate the art of slow living and thoughtful winemaking, you’ll love Leaning Post. They specialize in small-lot and unique wines with lots of personality. Apparently they have an “orange wine” if you’re in the mood for something adventurous! I have yet to give that a try!
You might see the owner’s dogs roaming the vineyard. So homey feeling. It’s like visiting a friend who happens to have really good wine on hand!
4. Icellars Estate Winery – Niagara-on-the-Lake
This boutique winery is sleek and modern, but the hospitality is warm and cozy. Tastings flights overlook the vineyard, so pretty! They serve a variety of low-sugar wines. Their Cab Franc and Merlot are amazing, but they also offer lighter options as well.
Icellars is a great pick for those who are dairy-sensitive or gluten-free.
5. The Foreign Affair Winery – Vineland
If you’re looking for something a little different, this hidden gem might be it. The Foreign Affair has an Italian feel and is known for drying their grapes before pressing them. This gives the wine a rich, full-bodied and unique taste.
Despite the name, everything here feels homey and welcoming. The tasting room is rustic chic with plenty of places to curl up with a glass and some good conversation. Their health-conscious approach includes limited additives, and they’re always happy to suggest pairings for gluten or dairy-free guests.
6. Domaine Queylus – Lincoln
You’ll find this French-inspired boutique winery in the town of Lincoln. Domaine Queylus is the place to go when you want something a little fancy but not snobby. It’s small, pretty, and surrounded by trees and rows of vines that seem to go on forever.
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are so good here, but their rosé is also delicious.
7. Between the Lines Winery – Niagara-on-the-Lake

This family-run winery has a youthful, but traditional vibe. Between the Lines isn’t flashy, but that’s the charm. Think cozy tastings in a red barn, wine slushies in the summer, and impromptu food truck visits.
Gluten-free and dairy-free guests are definitely accommodated well, and their snack boards include fresh fruit and nuts for clean-eating options. Everyone here (from the owners to the staff) makes you feel like you’re part of the family.
8. Kacaba Vineyards – Vineland
This little gem is on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, with views and vibes to match.
The space is small, with just a few cozy tasting spots that make you feel like you’ve come across a local secret.
They also cater to those with food sensitivities. It’s worth a visit if you’re looking to enjoy a glass of wine (or two)!
9. Marynissen Estates – Niagara-on-the-Lake
If you like that farmhouse charm, Marynissen is your spot. One of the oldest family estates in the region, this winery blends tradition with a down-to-earth, modern twist.
Their outdoor tasting patio is shaded and perfect for relaxing. Look out for unique options here like late harvests and bubbly reds. Their Baco Noir definitely stands out.
It’s a casual and cute place. Bring a good friend or your favourite book and settle in. You might never want to leave.
10. Honsberger Estate – Jordan Station
Picture a heritage barn, flowers, and live music. Honsberger pretty much feels like a dream.
This family-run winery and farm-to-table restaurant is somewhere you’ll definitely want to check out. Their wine list is short but sweet. Gluten-free and dairy-free options are not a problem here, their kitchen is happy to accommodate.
The best part is you can tour the farm and enjoy a glass of wine under the stars!

Hidden just off the beaten path in St. David’s, you’ll find Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery.
This boutique estate has a beautiful shaded patio right beside the vineyard. Their wines pair perfectly with things like fresh-baked bread, wood-fired pizza, and seasonal dishes from their bistro kitchen, all sourced right on-site.

13. Joseph’s Estate Wines – Niagara on the Lake
If drinking wine tends to give you a headache, try some of Joseph’s…the winery produces several wines with no added sulphites, which might make the difference for you. But you’ll have to pay the winery a visit to get your hands on some, as their wine isn’t sold anywhere else.
The winery features a cozy tasting bar and a hospitality room lined with oak barrels that feels very exclusive. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are very friendly.
Joseph’s Estate is a quietly delightful stop for anyone craving cozy, intimate, and genuine Niagara charm.
14. Sons & Daughters Winery – Ridgeville
Tucked away in Ridgeville, Sons & Daughters Winery is Pelham’s very first wine destination. Family‑run by two brothers, this cozy vineyard is warm and has a very unhurried atmosphere.

They occasionally do the cutest outdoor movies in the vineyard…a unique event not to be missed!
18. Lost Vineyards – Niagara on the Lake
Tucked away quietly on a ten-acre property, Lost Vineyards is Niagara-on-the-Lake’s very own hidden treasure. It’s an intimate, family-driven escape that feels more like a friend’s private backyard than a regular tasting room.
Producing only 500 cases a year, this boutique estate specializes in small-lot natural wines.
